My son applied recently in quant companies for internships and 3 of them scheduled interviews.
CS + Math is what they look for Quant Trader and Software engineer position’s.

His role isn't a Quant role. I know seniors who actually joined the Quant roles people target and they were inside top 200 rankings in JEE. Companies like NK Securities, Citadel won't even look at your resume if you aren't top 500 in JEE. Misguiding video giving false hopes to people that they can become a quant. There's handful of people working in HFTs and Quant research teams even in top companies, breaking into Investment Banking, Private Equity is much easier than getting into an HFT. You will need top IITs or extremely well regarded Phd in stats or maths to have chances.

This looks more like a software engineering job. Quant developer only deals with analysing, backtesting and creating trading algorithms.

If he is getting 4 cr then I definitely know hundreds of smarter people but not getting even 25% of PPP equivalent in INR (harsh to judge based on half hour interview but still you can get some prima facie sense). It's more luck & timming than talent or hardwork but you need both.

On LinkedIn, I see IITB CSE Toppers under 50 JEE Ranks working at these roles and yes their paycheck is a fat one, 2cr is average for them

yes bro i am in class xii - PCM right now, didn't wanted to go the JEE route and this year i figured out that i should look forward to Hedge funds and quat prop trading firms and now i am firm that i not gonna waste a year for jee instead try for BSc Maths Hons in Delhi university and go for good MFE programs abroad. Thanks
