It may take weeks to free the vessel that has been stranded in the Suez Canal. All ships have now been officially stopped from entering the channel as frantic recovery efforts continue. A refloating operation has been described as extremely difficult. The disruption to global trade could cost more than US$40 billion.

I stuck an 18 wheeler one time and backed up an interstate. The feeling of embarrassment was overwhelming.

Land is much more solid than water. Seems to me the best way to dislodge the container ship from its stuck position is to get several tractors - each with one strong metal tube firmly secured horizontally on a tractor with a rubber tire or two for softness at the end of the metal tube that's gonna be placed against the ship. Then with all the tractors in position side by side with their horizontal poles placed against the ship, all at once, together, ever so gently, ever so slowly, the tractors push the container ship away from shore. Also good to have the tugs assist in pulling the container ship at the same time.

The REAL issue is, why are we so dependant on China for our stuff?

Why wasting time! Why unload the units, vessels are stranded and will cause Huge delay on vendors which probably costs them the market. I hope evergreen gets out safely.

The only way is to take the containers off one by one

Evergreen is a Taiwanese company, but this ship has been leased to and operated by a Japanese company which will be held responsible for the unfortunate incidence.

If this had happened in Malaysia, maybe they might consider hiring THE Bomoh to help.

Is this "accident" an excuse not to deliver on precious metals?

Air pumps& water pumps piped under the ship could help, creating air pockets releasing the vacuum of being run aground ✍️👁️🤯

Overloading of this huge cntrship, the containers in fwd of ship should limit specially in forecastle which will hinder good visibility for officer on duty and his ab, thought the Suez pilot is onboard and captain on bridge to carry out maneuver in that area which is so narrow and curvy, , ,

So, let me add my 2 cents to solve the problem and help the people who try to free it; why not try to attach let say 10 big size cables to the back of the ship and use land heavy duty bulldozers across the canal to pull it with the push assist of the thug boats on the other side of the ship??? Maybe this is no more than one day of work!
