Maybe it was because he was turned into a chameleon or finally confined into someone that he didn't have a family and realized that families come in so many ways because all that really and truly matters is the love that comes from those you love and those who love you in return; all in all, seeing the relationship between Magnus and Lorenzo progress from bitter dislike and hate to mutual respect and friendship...that was something else altogether and was part of the reason why the Shadowhunters finale was so good.

Magnus now will always have family. Whether it’s Lorenzo, Caterina, Madzie, his future adopted children and his husband’s extended family (if Jace and Clary and/or Izzy and Simon have children/grandchildren). Hopefully however long Magnus’s life is, he’s never again without family. I think in the end, that’s what truly makes him whole.

Maryse and Lorenzo both had glorious redemptions on this show went from absolutely hating them both to really liking them by series finale. They both got punished and learned from their mistakes Maryse being deruned and Lorenzo getting turned into a lizard lmao. They should done similar with Robert and Jonathan then maybe id like them
