Finisher is the generally a wrestler's best move to win or end the match. The greatness of the finisher does not just rely on how aesthetically beautiful or how realistically painful it could be. It should also fit the wrestler's character or gimmick.

Goldberg's jackhammer in my opinion is one of the best finisher in wcw/wwf Goldberg usually spears his opponent before he uses the jackhammer

Fun fact for the Attitude Adjustment. That finisher was called the FU when John Cena, the man who did the move, debuted in WWE back in 2022.

The muscle buster is banned in wwe because it ended Tyson kidds career due to its breaking his neck but it was always one of my favorite finishers. That and the styles clash by aj styles because you have to pull your head back instead of tuck it like your trained to do.

Hulk Hogan's finishing move can be dangerous for the receiver, as the leg often lands on the opponent's neck after the jump, but it is also dangerous for those who use that move. Hulk Hogan by dint of using the leg drop as a finishing move damaged his back by dint of falling repeatedly on his butt, it took him several operations to rearrange his back.

So a finisher is the wrestlers iconic move to finish their opponent also known as their signature move aka go to move but also sometimes the wrestler just uses their actual signature move to finish off the opponent since sometimes the finisher is not required. Also a finisher usually fits a wrestlers character and it can be your own unique one or a variation of someone else's finisher

In my opinion, the best finisher of all time is tied with the Spear(various wrestlers), the RKO(from Randy; he does it the best)[aka the Diamond Cutter], the Tombstone Piledriver(from the Undertaker), the Chokeslam, the Phenomenal Forearm(from AJ Styles), and the Rock Bottom(from The Rock).

I'm an old school wrestling fan, from the late 70's on, so I've always been fond of the simpler moves that can be done on anybody. The Figure Four leg lock, the Iron Claw, a big man doing a huge splash, etc. I will admit, though, that watching guys like Ricochet do a double rotation moonsault is insanely entertaining. Watching Beautiful Bobby Eaton fly off the top rope with a leg drop pretty much made up my Saturday evenings as a kid.

Most of these moves are designed to have minimal actual impact on either wrestler. The one receiving the move has to react as if in agony or unconscious ("selling' the move) but also has to do their part to keep the move safe. Mistakes, called "botches", do happen, and sometimes, real injuries do happen, and they can be pretty severe.
