A Little about me:
I started this channel because I've had the privilege of owning not one, not two, but four amazing Rottweilers in my life. And each one of them has taught me something new and precious about how to take care of these brilliant creatures. And now, I want to share what I've learned with all you guys out there.

This channel is all about showing you how to care, understand, and bond with your Rottweiler buddy!

My Rotty was never trained .He just seemed to know.We once had a drunk lady wander into our house. The dog sensed she was harmless and just let her in and watched her. A guy we later found out was not a good guy came over to try out for Dad's band and he all out lost his mind trying to tear him apart. He was extremely well rounded and just naturally smart .It's hard to explain. He was the best dog like he just knew what he needed to do .I had 0 experience with the breed and I just spoke to him as if he was human. No one word commands needed .Now I know a lot more and realize how truly lucky I was lol

People need to check and see what their dog barks at before telling them no become their could be a reason why they are barking. Also naturally protective instincts is alot better than telling your dog to attack on command.

For example a Rottweiler, Boreboel, Akita and Cane Corso are naturally protective and don't need an attack command. People have a code word to tell their dog to attack rather than letting them protect when its necessary, this can be dangerous because a dog needs to be able to identify and read the situation and make their judgment naturally. And when someone REALLY attacks or tries to harm you, your dog won't respond because in the heat of the moment you're not thinking about giving you're dog a command. So its safe to allow you're dog to keep their natural guardian instincts.

We have 2 Rotts and they are very protective of their family. Almost to a fault. Training depends on the Rottweiler. Most protection comes naturally. Best breed ever

I think Rotties have a 6th sense about dangerous people without any training to protect. I've never encouraged my Rotties to guard but I once had a situation where a man, who I am convinced had bad intentions, started to approach me when I was in a very isolated place alone with my dogs. My girl dog suddenly went crazy, despite never having done anything like this before, ran at him growling and snarling, jumped up on his back and almost floored him. I called her off, she came to my side and the man just said ''Oh she hurt my back'', turned and walked away. I'm pretty sure his reaction meant he up to something

I'm on my 2nd Rotty, this latest one is finely bred, we had him obedience trained but not schutzhund....he's a natural..yes, he's very frisky and I would advise not petting him while he's on leash (which is always, in public)....if I let him go...he's very friendly and sensitive (such as with small children)...he has never bit a dog or person (in 5 1/2 girls cousin (which is schizophrenic) lives with us and freaked out (spontaneously), screaming...my dog bolted from a room and pushed him away from my girl....that's all, he (my dog) then went downstairs does not need in a gentle environment and most dogs, he's a you don't believe this, then don't get a dog!

My Rott is 5 now. When she was 18 months old a man approached me aggressively on a riverbank at night, he was loud and aggressive and just as I made the choice to get out of there my dog attacked him without a word from me. She’d never done anything like that before and hasn’t since. She sensed my fear and reacted in a way I could never have believed possible. She leaped at him and knocked him over, he jumped up fast and ran. She chased him away and came back to me once she was sure he was gone. I love Willow she’s the best dog I’ve had and I’ve had 13 of assorted breeds. I hope to breed her on her next season as she’s broody. Check my channel out if you want to see her ❤❤

I remember years ago I had a family pet rottie as a kid. She was very placid and couldn’t guard or protect to save her life. In fact, the only thing that stopped people coming into our property was her looks, even though her body language was clearly friendly and happy. If people knew what she was like, they could walk in and steal anything they wanted and even hurt us in the process, and she would still lick them to death and would want to play and have cuddles, behind those vicious rottie looks, there was just a big, fluffy golden retriever. Even my labradors are much better watch and guard dogs than she could have ever been, hahahahaha. 😂😂

Something funny we realised recently.. i visit and stay with my sister snd neice for a few days at a time (around 4 times a year). I sleep on the sofa.
And the dogs howl and cry when they see them and lick them too death all day lol.. but when im asleep on the sofa, my neice (their favourite) gets up for school snd i stayed asleep. They didnt come off the sofa, got exited waggling but stayed on the sofa with me.
Last night i didnt sleep untill 5am wnd slept untill 2pm. My sister and neice had both came down, did their getting ready, cooked food. My sister was down and out the back garden in and out for 4 hours and none of the dogs went. 1 did for the toilet then straight back on the sofa with me (asleep).. when i woke up and got up they havnt stopped playing since and putting toys on my sidters legs too throw for them, wantint too play tug of war just none stop..
We realised its weird snd they always do this.
Its because im asleep they wont leave me asleep and “viunerable” by myself. They sleep too but even with their favourite ppl who give them so much strokes and attention they literilly stay with me untill i wake up❤ it must be a protective thing because your vounerable when ur asleep they stay next too you untill ur awake ❤. Even for 5 hours they must be dying too go nd play nd get spoilt but they just stay next too me untill i wake up..
Ps when i do wake up they climb all over me and pin and lick me😂😂. Its cute but not the best thing 10 seconds after u open ur eyes hahaa😂😂 god love them but it must be a pack type instinct thing❤❤❤

When my mum and dad had a rottweiler when I was a teenager he didn't need us to train him he come trained his father and mother where police dogs ... He was a weapon no one though twice to come in not only because of the rottweiler ... because they knew my dad was a golden Grove boxer

My pup had zero protection training and by God, she proved herself a few times.. she took a back seat when I was around but when I wasn't she took the lead protection role with the wife and kids.. even with me, my younger brother and some of my friends one night when we were drinking thought it was a good idea to start playing rough.. she wasn't having it and snapped at their asses.. never penetrated the skin but was enough to make then sh!t themselves.. another time I was put walking with my, at the time 2 youngest boys, they were maybe 70 yards infront with the pup and a man was cycling towards them.. this was on an old railway track, it was lit and in the town but still quite secluded, anyway the man got off his bike, bent over and started talking to the kids (obviously I don't know what he said, the boys were 5 ans 3 at the time and it happened so fast) anyway she charged the man and took a hold of the inside of his leg until I got there.... what an amazing pup.. she's been gone for a few years now but she sorely missed and always loved.. Hartley xxx

i have a problem! my rotty loves OUR cats, little dogs, & basically anything thats in the house but once we step out she wants to go after other dogs, i still haven’t tried having her smelling other dogs only cause im scared she will do something, she loves humans & kids but for some reason hates any walking animal! is there any reason for that?? she shows aggression ive never seen before if its a bigger dog ! shes also my first big dog she listens to commands, shes well potty trained, she once ran out once but came straight back when i called her name instead of making me chase her lol very smart dog i love her so much just dont ever want to get rid of her is she ever lunges over the gate to get a dog
shes 7 months as well!
