ENGINEER EXPLAINS: How To Land Your First Tech Internship

Показать описание
Getting your first internship I think (among with many others) is the hardest single barrier to pass in your tech career. It's the first time that you're applying for something that's more than a local summer job, where you need to craft a strong resume and go through a tiring interviewing process.
Few years ago I went through that on steroids as it was when internships were being canceled because of COVID. I've gone through it again when hiring was slowing down past the internship to find opportunities in New York, which is where I wanted to live in, for after graduating (my team at Amazon was in Seattle). No matter where you are, whether it's looking for your first internship or first full time job after graduating, resume, and when you're done writing yours, interview prep, are what you should be obsessing about on a daily basis.
However, that's only scratching the surface, there's more that you can do. Reaching out is underestimated and for the very least not used enough as another engine to generate leads. That has been my surprising way to get interviews at companies that I'd have been rejected from otherwise (by not getting an answer back), like Stripe. You will definitely need to do a lot of reaching out to start getting results from, but when you do, they can be game changers.
In this video I show you how you can write a strong, concise, and organized resume that will catch the eye of any recruiter that's glancing over many resumes, how to prepare to interviews so that you can start crushing technical rounds, and exactly how to reach out to get even more interviews down the line--and I'll show you the results I got from doing just that, to illustrate how powerful it can be.
