Today Rex gets upgraded! Since she'll be living at home with us for a couple more months (and we're tired of her popping her pools), we bit the bullet and bought her an ultra-heavy-duty pool that is finally Rex-proof!

It always amazes me that Rex never even seems to try and bite either one of you. The most you get is her thrashing but she goes away from you rather than biting and that is incredible and speaks to how much she trusts you.

Every time I see rex, I am still flabbergasted by how Emily and Ed are just so confortable with her.

I love this, because it shows that Alligators aren't evil killing machines. She lets you touch her, clean her, and change up her room without trying to hurt you. The only time she even got aggressive was when the door touched her tail suddenly (which, instinctively, she took as an attempt to eat her), and she aborted the move when she realized it was an accident. How cool is that??
