The World's BEST vs. WORST Metros (Public Transport)

Intercity Public transportation systems (i.e. metros & subways) are something that I've always been obsessed with when I travel! I find it fascinating to learn about how people get from point A to point B (maybe because growing up in Phoenix, public transport is nonexistent!).

After visiting every single country in the world, I have (finally) compiled a grand list of my self-declared BEST and WORST metro systems in various cities across the globe. What do you guys think - do you agree or disagree with what I have to say? Let me know in the comments below!

As someone from India, I completely agree about Mumbai, but I think you confused metro with local train system. Newer metro systems of Delhi, Hyderabad and Chennai are clean and orderly.

Out of the 4 metros on this list. I would pick Hong Kong's MTR, but if it was included, I would have picked Singapore's MRT as the metro itself is very clean and efficient to use and also has a promising future to expand further. Other than that, this video was very informative and well thought out and will come into use when visiting more countries. Thanks.

Moscow one is the best. Super clean, beautiful, punctual and frequent trains. Its so nice to go through beautiful stations, you don't get that in Seoul, Hong kong or Beijing.

I went to Russia in 2018 for the world cup and i can say that the subway stations were phenomenal with great architecture.

As a transit enthusiast, I really enjoyed this video and I come from NYC so we have it pretty close to best when it comes to service but pretty bad in decoration, functionality and cleanliness. I wanna see a lot more of these, if you return to Montreal they have a pretty nicely decorated Metro

I'm from Mumbai, and to be fair, what you travelled on is not really a metro, it's a local train service and in itself is a modern logistical Marvel, everyday it carries number of people equal to the entire population of Australia.

The mumbai metro service began in 2014, and is rapidly expanding, it's clean and very efficient, would love for you to visit Mumbai and give it a try!

yeah thailand mrt is quite good, i think mrt or metro in southeash asian country start rapidly to be better and advance like singapore, malaysia, and indonesia. after few times traveling southeas asia i can say it's surprisingly good.

I'm from Berlin and I've always thought of our train system to be one of the best. I never needed a car, I don't even have a license because I can get around perfectly with public transportation and I'm known to always be on time. But a huge negative point is, that there are alot of beggars and crazy people who scream around. Sometimes you feel very unsafe and not comfortable. The system is great but the people are scary sometimes.

That's not the Mumbai Metro u have shown. It's Mumbai Basic Local Train .
Mumbai's Metro is much hygiene and well operated .

When you talked about Mumbai metro, you were referring to the Mumbai Suburban Railway(Local trains) which aren't the cleanest and most efficient. But there is a legitimate Mumbai Metro which works like all other metro systems globally(plus it s air-conditioned) and isn't as bad.

The metro is so impressive in Seoul, Tokyo, Singapore, and every city that has a metro in China, that I have seen. I have been living in Asia for the last 15 years. I think one of the worst is my home city's metro, sad to say, which is Toronto. Outdated, frequent delays, expensive and many scary people riding.

I just returned from a trip to Korea and I definitely agree on how good Seoul’s metro system is. It is indeed super clean, safe and efficient. That and Singapore are probably my favorite metros I’ve been on.

I agree with Moscow and Seoul being good. I honestly thought Beijing, Shanghai, Xian, Chengdu, Kunming, Chongqing, Qingdao, Guangzhou in China were great and better than Hong Kong, so surprised that you didn't include one of them. Taipei's train was pretty good too but a bit limited

Sir As an Indian It, s my duty to inform you that the Mumbai Metro system is not a metro system actually it is a local train system
India has no metro system in mumbai

I think the metro system of Barcelona is pretty impressive !

Personally, my favorite metro is the Tokyo Metro (not the company, the whole urban system combined) because the frequency of the trains are once every 3 minutes on most lines and it covers every corner of the city with multiple lines. The stations are amazing and have many connections. I do agree that my least favorite is New York. I’ve watched your videos for years and as a traveler myself some of your videos have been a big help for my travel plans (attractions, things to do ext…) so thank you for all these videos they are amazing!

I don’t know about NY having unfriendly subway passengers but my experience was quite the opposite. I found people there to be quite helpful actually. And the metros in China are also pretty well maintained. I come from Wuhan and it is one of the cleanest and most efficient metros I’ve ever ridden.
