I still have my Crayola watercolors set and have to admit that when I created my senior thesis in art school, (and I was broke as heck) I used them and very good watercolor paper. Somehow I managed to pull it off because my show went very well!

I started with those chalky watercolors and now I have the arteza 36 watercolor set it’s really nice

I actually got a Crayola paintbrush set, now yes, it did have a different design, for example it had white bristles instead of brown and black. I fell in love with them!

Loved this! Definitely agree: invest in the good paper, but don't break the bank with the paints if you're just starting out. I was lucky to find very nice quality brushes at a very good price. But as you've shown, it's the artist that makes something beautiful not the materials 😊

Prang is the best of the cheap brands for watercolors. Well, last I checked, anyway. 😊
