Join the reining Britain’s Strongest Man and Senior Strength Coach at Harlequin’s Rugby, Adam Bishop, for a professional rugby workout.

In the video, Adam meets us at the gym to take us through a strength and power session comprising of box jumps, med ball throws, prowler sprints, back squats, military presses and neck isometrics.

Here’s your go-to gym routine for being in top shape for rugby season:

1) Box Jumps – 4 x 3 reps
2) Med Ball Throw – 4 x 3 reps
3) Loaded Prowler Sprints – 4 x 10 meters
4) Back Squats – 4 x 3-5 reps
5) Military Press – 4 x 3-5 reps
6) Neck Isometrics – 3 x 3 reps (5 second hold, 4 positions)

This is much more constructive than watching the All Blacks and screaming what the fuck when they lift insanely heavy weights.
