I'm a below knee amputee with a wooden peg leg, which makes me a pirate, but will it make me a good biker capable of going over 2,000 miles? We'll see.

I am disagree.
You show us week by week that you have 2 legs.
You are doing everything like a 2 feet person. The difference between you and I is that you can change your leg if you want. (My favorite forever is the pegleg, if anytime I could change my leg i would choose a pegleg).
