Running not one but 2 marathons under those conditions is just pure dedication

For her efforts, she deserved much more than $70, 000 in donations towards breast cancer. Definitely a worthy cause and a dedicated advocate.

Here in Canada we have a story thats not really similar but still incredible

Terry Fox was an amputee who did a cross-country marathon while still only having one leg due to an amputation because of cancer

During this, he also started a charity while he ran and its still active today called the “Terry Fox Foundation”

Unfortunately, he could not complete his run as the cancer spread to his lungs, dying 9 months later.

He’s still remembered as a legend in folklore of Canada, many schools do fundraisers, and his charity is active today, as of 2022 its raised 800 million towards cancer research

She did set the record for female consecutive marathons but she also tied the actual record which is held by a man from Brazil. Just mentioning this because this wasn't just an accomplishment by "female standards" this was an accomplishment as a human being and that is how it should be recognized.

"365 marathons in a year? That's crazy!"

"Nah- just for giggles I figured I'd do it during a leap year!"

When your body falls apart, it’s telling you to stop the thing you’re doing to cause it all the stress.

Running is so incredibly hard on your body — feet, knees, joints, etc. and then to run 26 miles daily is way too much. Also, running can be very time consuming especially if you have to be available for your family. Pretty Insane!

Please know that if you get covid, you should not do what she did. Rest will help a lot. Exercise can extend and worsen the healing process and cause many complications.

This is super insane, but she HAS to know limits, I’m surprised she didn’t die from all those conditions considering her age. Yes I understand it’s a huge dedication, but her safety is more important.

Even with a job, a family, and dislocating her finger during one of her marathons, she still managed to complete her goal. She has more dedication than most people (including me) will ever have. Just incredible.

That sounds more like an addiction than a challenge

The discipline and mental state that she had to maintain is impressive.
True grit.

I saw this on Strava. 189 miles per week.
9, 715 miles for the year. What an accomplishment🎉

I think marathons of over ten or fifteen miles is abusive to your body. Also, in my view, your body should have a day between runs to allow time for your bouty to rebuild. This view is based on alot of studying of such as body building and exercise in the latter 1960's though around 1980 when it starting being about steroids, pills and such, while previously it was about protein, vitamins and minerals and of course hard work.

Being able to do something like that at that age is more than dedication, that is true commitment right there kids.
