Amazon changed Transparency over the weekend. Now any ASIN that is protected through Transparency sellers will have to submit 5 unique codes to Amazon to be able to sell. Even the brand owner will have to submit the codes also. With this change, it 100 percent locks up an ASIN so that hijackers can not create the listing without it. It is like applying for a pesticide application.

This is confirmed, I joined their intellectual property webinar yesterday and they confirmed it, hijackers will have to give a unique code to sell which will lock out anyone on jumping on the listing

what if hijackers doing FBM, can transparency prevent them from hijacking the listing?

I've watched other amazon seller university videos on the transparency program and I'its not clear if the transparency codes are all the same for each ASIN? For example, if there are 100 units of a particular ASIN, will we get 1 transparency code for that 1 ASIN that we apply to all the units or are they technically 100 unique transparency codes for each unit? I want to know so that I could let my supplier know. Thanks!

Thank you for the informative videos that you post here. I have a question about listing a new product on Amazon using my own GS1-purchased UPC code, while the same product is already being sold by another seller who has applied Transparency restrictions, which means I cannot attach myself to their listing. My question is, would creating a new listing allow me to sell the product without any issues? Thank you.

Do you have video on how to cancel amazon transparency program if you're already enrolled?

As I understand it if the product is sold on another platform other than Amazon then the product ASIN IS NOT eligible. From what you know is that correct?

I have my own brand which is locked for other sellers without approval, I have no idea though how I got it “locked out” for other sellers but this means I never have any hijacker luckily

But will you have to label every unit you produce or source that’s not being sold on Amazon

I'm a Reseller on Amazon and was stopped from selling a product unless I upload 5 transparency Codes. I know my stuff is real I buy from legit sources how do I prove this to them and get the codes?

I have been on the loosing end of transparency. 5 of the regional brands that I was selling have locked down a bunch of their ASINS. I don't see what you describe as a change. It's been like that for a while. Here is the scoop as I have experienced it. One seller convinced 5 brands that he can handle their Amazon. I have talked on the phone with each of the brands, and they don't even know what transparency is all about and don't care. They just want Amazon taken care off and out of their hair. The seller puts the codes on in his warehouse. Nothing goes on the product at the manufacturing plant. They are using it for seller control only and they are not concerned with counterfeit which Amazon has bragged as the purpose. It is hard to find details from Amazon. I even tried to apply for my brand just to get more information, but couldn't get so much as a reply. The seller was referred to me by a couple of the brands which I had a good relationship with. The seller hung up on me after I ask a couple of questions. From what I have seen Amazon wants products that are registered to have the codes on all units no matter where they are sold. That's not happening with any of these 5 brands. I can buy the products at wholesale and there are no codes. I go to the grocery and the products have no codes. Lawyer Jeff Schick thinks this is wrong and is willing to take it up with Amazon. Seems like Amazon would spell it out what's required. Can the codes just be on Amazon products or do the brands have to put them on products in all the channels of distribution?
