Mapping on Demand: Laser-based 3D Map of Frankenforst Main Building

The video shows the result of aligning measurements of a 3D laser scanner from an autonomously flying micro aerial vehicle. Measurements are registered first to a continuously updated egocentric map, which is used for local navigation planning. Egocentric maps are registered to each other and the registration error is minimized globally.
