It breaks my heart that everyone around me is talking about how much they hate China, how China is evil (especially a lot of Taiwanese). It is tough for me because I want them to see the real China. I am Indian and i have seen the dark side of democracy. In schools we are taught that democracy is the best form of government but compared to china india is behind in all sectors we need another 50 years to be like china. If we protest against the government in india we will be called Anti-Nationals or as Pakistanis. Minorities are getting abused in many of the northern parts of India and government is not doing anything.

Just yesterday I saw a tweet talking about this issue, they claim China is installing birth-control over Uyghur population and there's not many men left in that ethnic group (!), and all the evidences they got is two piece of info-screenshots that says "eligible female residents should go register and check". To put things into the perspective, the specific community that two info-pieces are talking about belongs to Tianshan district, which is a district in Urumchi with 60.89% of its population being Han ethnicity. For all we know, that info-pieces could referring to Han female only, since by policies they are the only group that requires birth-control.
They tell this kind of bold-face lies because majority of twitter users have no clue what China is like and how to read, speak and interpret the language, while the percentage that do know Chinese are themselves spreaders of disinformation that circle-jerk around Epoch and NTD's garbage fake news. The most horrendous thing about the disinformation I talked about above is that those disinformation are also translated by the exact same group of ppl into other languages like Japanese and there's no way any individual would be capable of to disprove their lies due to language barriers.
That's why, imo, there's the sort of dissonance from reality when come to Chinese topic. The well had been poisoned a long time ago and is keeping getting poisoned further.

First, I consider myself one of the highly educated people (I got a master degree in economics in France, and I studied VERY hard for that). But I firmly oppose any current Western democratic system. Democracy goes far beyond one person, one vote. Even if China’s 1.4 billion people were all highly educated, I would not agree with the Western one-person, one-vote system.

Second, China has many problems, such as medical insurance, high housing prices in first-tier cities, corruption(especially at the township level). However, our government is not ignoring these problems. Those who say that China has no freedom of speech, you can Google to translate the comments on the topic of people's livelihood on Weibo, criticizing the government is all over the page, those people live well and HAVE NOT disappeared!

Third, the Chinese government’s ruling goals have never changed. Deng Xiaoping set a 100-year goal for China's development. To this day, government leaders have changed many sessions, but we still move forward in accordance with Deng Xiaoping's development goals. We aim at the rejuvenation of an entire nation, not just interests in sight. The four-year and five-year electoral system is definitely not conducive to the implementation and continuation of any good policies.

Fourth, for those who criticize China, before you start, please acknowledge the fact that we are a country with a population of 1.4 billion. We can only find ways to manage such a hugely populated country by ourselves. Any attempt to directly impose a Western management model on the Chinese people is pure evil in my eyes!

In the end, what I hate is not that Western countries criticize us. What I hate is that they defame China by distorting facts and lying irresponsibly!

China has experienced a painful history of invasion by Western powers. The Chinese people have been mercilessly slaughtered. When the enemy appears again, we will unite. Most, if not all, are. After all, throughout history, there are always a handful of Chinese who like to be traitors. They are shameless and despicable!

This year I was so confused why western media becomes biased once it comes to China related news. I stayed in China for two weeks at the end of Jan, and went back to the states after. I witnessed how the two society dealt with the pandemic. Meanwhile I am surprised what a hypocrite the media could be. You arguments exactly hit the point and totally make sense. I found your comments to be so much aligned with my own View Of China. I have done business with them for about 35 years, the positive changes I’ve seen are incredible, their Infrastructure is light years ahead of Almost all Western Countries. The improvements in Production and Quality are staggeringly positive. I was treated in a Chinese Hospital, Incredibly efficient and effective. I have no problem dealing with China at All.

I love listening to you talk Daniel, even without preparation. Very articulate, makes a lot of sense. It really makes the anti-China haters think and open up their minds only if they are willing to listen. Living in America, the anti-China propaganda drives me crazy sometimes. So much nonsense and hate towards the Chinese government without much reasoning. It must be the arrogance of Americans who think they are the best at everything and any other alternative is frown upon.
