Zionism is a political and ideological movement that emerged in the late 19th century, primarily among Jewish communities, with the aim of establishing and supporting a Jewish homeland in the historic region of Palestine, which was part of the Ottoman Empire at the time. The term "Zionism" is derived from "Zion," a biblical reference to Jerusalem, and it has deep roots in Jewish history, culture, and religious beliefs.

Key points about Zionism include:

Historical Context: Zionism gained momentum in the late 19th and early 20th centuries as a response to rising anti-Semitism in Europe and the desire for a safe haven for Jewish people. The movement was influenced by the nationalist and self-determination movements of the time.

Theodor Herzl: Theodor Herzl, an Austro-Hungarian journalist and playwright, is often considered the father of modern political Zionism. He published a seminal work in 1896 called "The Jewish State," in which he argued for the establishment of a Jewish state in Palestine as a solution to the "Jewish Question."

Balfour Declaration: During World War I, the British government issued the Balfour Declaration in 1917, which expressed support for the establishment of a "national home for the Jewish people" in Palestine. This declaration played a significant role in the eventual establishment of Israel.

British Mandate: After World War I, the League of Nations granted Britain a mandate to administer Palestine, and during this period, Jewish immigration to the region increased.

State of Israel: On May 14, 1948, David Ben-Gurion, the head of the Jewish Agency, declared the establishment of the State of Israel in the historic land of Palestine. This declaration marked the realization of the Zionist vision and led to the founding of the modern State of Israel.

Different Perspectives: It's important to note that Zionism is not a monolithic movement. There are various strands of Zionism, including political, religious, and cultural Zionism, each with its own interpretation of the movement's goals and methods.

Shortly before his death in 1904, Theodor Herzl, the founder of Zionism, was granted an audience with Pope Pius X in Rome. He came right to the point: The Jewish people, scattered across Europe, dreamed of a national home in the Holy Land of Palestine, Herzl said. Could they count on the Vatican's support?

The pope, dispensing with pleasantries, spoke plainly. "The Jews have not recognized our Lord, therefore we cannot recognize the Jewish people, " said the Holy Father, according to Herzl's diary account of the meeting. "And so if you come to Palestine and settle your people there, we will be ready with churches and priests to baptize all of you."

Something is fishy about this whole concept thing. Who told the Palestine they has permission to migrate in these areas in the first place before the Jews decided later to go there too 🤔

Zionism is an ancient Jewish ideology and a biblical commandment that says Jews should be in Zion.
Zion is the holiest place for Jews in the world and Zion is synonymous with Jerusalem.
The best parallel to Zionism is the desire of the Muslims to rule and make a pilgrimage to Mecca, that's exactly it! Jews go to the holiest place for Jews in the world, which is Zion. To say that the aspiration of Jews to go to Zion has nothing to do with Judaism is like saying that the aspiration of Muslims to go to Mecca has nothing to do with Islam. Zionism has existed for over 3000 years. People get confused between the ancient Zionist ideology and Herzl's political Zionist movement, which are two completely different things. .

In 70 AD the Romans did not destroy the Temple of Solomon. That temple had been destroyed a very long time prior by the Babylonians. Psalms 137 verses 7 and 8. The Second temple was destroyed by the Romans in 70 AD.

I was trying to witness to a young person here in the United States in a in a grocery store, because when Paul became a Christian, and no one else accepted him as Messiah. Jesus came to him personally in a vision. He told him to go to Greece and spread the gospel. and with that all gentiles became grafted into the olive tree, which Israel, but to the point, just because I believed, Jesus Yeshua she called me a Zionist. So I look at it this way, if they persecute you, they will persecute Christians.

While actually you may be right that most Jews today believe that Jews have that right to that place, it doesn't seem to actually be a tenet of the Religion.

Here where I live there are many Jewish people who by all accounts appearances are extremely expert in the ancient Jewish holy texts actually say nothing of the sort, and not only that, the opposite is true. They will at the drop of a hat rattle off chapter and verse and also incredibly detailed historical information leaving no doubt, in my mind at least, that Zionism is a modern secular idea going back only to the late 1800s/early 1900s, from the secular Jews who were/are atheists or with a very ignorant/mistaken/vulgar version of what Judaism is all about.

You see them on TV and such, but understanding them in this way is difficult because the media won't hear them out or let them make their points or clearly express themselves. You kinda hafta go down and meet them yourself or specifically search them on the internet and take the time to heat them out yourself.
