In this tutorial we'll be going over how to use the Alpha Lock in Procreate, which is a useful tool that can save you time and help you create artwork with more precision.

In short, the main benefit of using alpha lock in Procreate is that it forces you to color inside of the lines. Let's go over how it works and then have a look at some examples where it would be useful.

Very good. Right to the point without having to watch how someone did it in a whole design video.

Great explanation, I've seen this used in several of the tutorials have been doing but no one has bothered to explain what's actually happening.

I’m really wanting to get into Graphic Design and I finally have the tools to do it. You’re videos have been super helpful. Do you have any beginner tips that have helped you?

Thank you!

Hey, I know this was made 2 years ago but any chance you can make a video if it is possible to delete a color, with out having to slowly go around what you drew?

hello! just wondering. Doesn’t clipping mask also have the same effect as this? Just asking in case there’s an additional function to Alpha Lock i’m not aware of.

I accidentally turned on alpha lock as i was playing around with settings and drew an entire image that can't be seen. Can i convert that into a line?

Hey there! Will you please try Vectornator as well? I have seen is similar to Inkscape, but it a bit confusing on iPad. I really want to learn that as well!
