Hey Rob - I need to thank you for your time in putting these together. This video (how to recover from mistakes, and fix imperfections before they get out of control) and your HG Roof Rust Repairs (go slow on the roof, perfectly align your panels for butt welds) have both considerably helped me in both skill and confidence in repairing the rust on my Datsun 240Z. Last night I completed a complicated part at the top-right of the windscreen that took in some of the roof - it had a lot of angles and curves that needed to be just right, and I completed it with no warpage and (I think) a zero filler repair, while also remaining true to the 240z shapes. So thanks, mate, and I look forward to seeing progress on your projects over 2021!

Great stuff. The close ups do help alot for us newbies to understand what rob is explaining.

Look forward to to door skin and structure rebuild. Also will rob be showing how to hang a door and problems that may bring, dent door, alignment issues etc.

Many thanks, thoroughly prefer the longer version with close ups. 👍

Excellent tut. I've read a few guys builds on how they go about these jobs. Tho, clearly, much of the gritty details are lost.
I have a HZ that needs all four doors worked over. So this was invaluable. Thank you for your efforts.

Another great tutorial Rob and much appreciated. I was especially grateful that you undertook to show how to fix a patch that was not quite right. It's great to see the whole production improving all the time. It looks like you're using more than one camera which also helps the editing. Thank you also for the closeups. I understand that it would take considerably more time having to set up for the closeup, but the detail that it shows is very much appreciated. Again, thanks Rob, thanks Deb and thanks Bill. Another big thumbs up from me.

Hmm takes a bit to get to that level of patch panel repair, l remember we just used to put new door skins when panels were cheap and bronze the edges. The old Toranas front guards we used to weld in the day. My ht Monaro door is very tricky because it's I think over a metre long the weld l got to do and the patch panel is under that crease, very tricky. If all goes wrong it's a new door skin.🙄🙄🙄🙄

Rob is there any advantage to using tig welds instead of mig? Less heat affected zone/softer weld etc??
