Haha love to see you getting into FPV man! Whatever works for you, go for it but most of us start in a simulator, then go outside, and after lots of experience, finally try to fly indoors. You’re learning in reverse 😂😂

Flying “manual mode” (more commonly known as acro mode) is extremely difficult for even the most experienced pilots when flying line of sight (without the goggles). Definitely recommend putting the goggles on if you’re going to try acro 🤙🏼

Biggest advice: get a simulator. Velocidrone and Liftoff are the most popular, Uncrashed and Tryp and up and coming and look amazing, DRL Sim is the best for racing simulation. All in all, Uncrashed is probably the easiest and cheapest to just pick up and get learning.

As much as people tell you to look into it right away, ignore rates, ignore feeling like you need to build your own, ignore messing around too much with betaflight. That’s 1-2 years after you start kinda stuff.

Find a large open area to practice (once you’ve put MINIMUM 10 hours in the simulator) and start with circling objects, small loops, and rolls.

Then from there, you go in DEEP, take a second mortgage on your home, buy a drone to lift a Blackmagic 6K, and change your whole career convincing yourself you’ll be flying in the next Michael Bay movie… you’ve got this!

If your intention was to make me belly laugh, mission accomplished!! So funny but appreciate you’re honesty in front of everyone instead of showing your skills after you perfected them :-)

Totally making this way harder trying to learn inside. Give yourself LOTS of room!

You should try a fpv drone simulator I recommend DRL

A simulator is very worth using, at any level of experience. I got DRL for $7 on sale on Steam. I had to use a wired gaming controller, my wireless did not work for some reason.

You can learn a ton using just a basic gaming controller. However using one long term isn't good for building good throttle control.

I just returned my Cetus X. I'm a beginner. got the Cetus Lite drone 8 weeks ago to see if I would get motion sickness. I didn't, and it was fun soooo. wanted an upgrade so last week I ordered and got the Cetus X. after watching lots of reviews and drone pilots. I thought I could handle this thing. after setting all the switches to the lowest settings (following the directions). I set it on the floor and armed it. gave it a little throttle and got it up to about 12" off the floor. it then, without me doing anything with the sticks, it dropped to the floor and just started bouncing like a ball (up about 12", down, up 12" down etc. etc. ) off my floor until I disarmed it. tried again, same thing. so hovering wasn't doable. So I thought well maybe I should just try to fly it across my room. armed it, gave it throttle, eased the right stick forward just a tad. and the drone started going nicely across the room, again about 12 to 18 inches off the floor. then halfway across the room, without me doing anything different to the sticks. the motors just screamed to full throttle and the drone rockets up and slams into my ceiling then proceeds to bounce around my house until I can get it disarmed. spent 2 days messing with it and it just kept repeating that performance. the drone was set at Angle mode. So I returned it today. on top of that, when it did fly, OMG was it touchy! So now I'm looking elsewhere for my drone. beginner to intermediate acro-ing. Nice video, wish I could create them as you do.

I’m just getting into it as well, had control problems in the beginning as well try the “pinch technique” with the joysticks, it really helps in making little movements

I just saw a Insta360 ad with you in it when I went to watch a YouTube video. Pretty cool 😎

Good luck in your fpv journey. A great drone YouTuber is Captain Drone. He’s from Canada so he follows Canadian rules, which I believe are stricter than US rules but not sure. However, he does was drones is pretty much how you do camera videos.

Thanks man. I have wanted to get into fpv but I wasn't willing to spend the money to try it out. Nice option for a reasonable price. Always start out flying at a local field.

Thanks fella, I appreciate your perspective and I’m excited to try it too!

Hey, you should use your pointer finger and your thumbs on each control stick, it will be much easier to control them with just the thumbs like on a mavic

Doesn't that drone have turtle mode which will flip it upright when it's upside down?

I can't find the color option for the Good Human hoodie you're wearing. Can you point me to it on your site?

also when you said that we fly them crash them and have to pay a bunch to rebuild them i wouldn't say that is totally true. We do crash but unless it is insanely bad we can just put a new pair of props on and do a few minor repairs and we are good
