See it to believe it – a new era of terror is here. #WolfManMovie only in theaters January 17.

From Blumhouse and visionary writer-director Leigh Whannell, the creators of the chilling modern monster tale The Invisible Man, comes a terrifying new lupine nightmare: Wolf Man.

Golden Globe nominee Christopher Abbott (Poor Things, It Comes at Night) stars as Blake, a San Francisco husband and father, who inherits his remote childhood home in rural Oregon after his own father vanishes and is presumed dead. With his marriage to his high-powered wife, Charlotte (Emmy winner Julia Garner; Ozark, Inventing Anna), fraying, Blake persuades Charlotte to take a break from the city and visit the property with their young daughter, Ginger (Matlida Firth; Hullraisers, Coma).

But as the family approaches the farmhouse in the dead of night, they’re attacked by an unseen animal and, in a desperate escape, barricade themselves inside the home as the creature prowls the perimeter. As the night stretches on, however, Blake begins to behave strangely, transforming into something unrecognizable, and Charlotte will be forced to decide whether the terror within their house is more lethal than the danger without.

The film co-stars Sam Jaeger (The Handmaid’s Tale), Ben Prendergast (The Sojourn Audio Drama) and Benedict Hardie (The Invisible Man).

Wolf Man is directed by Whannell, whose previous films with Blumhouse include The Invisible Man, Upgrade and Insidious: Chapter 3. The screenplay is written by Leigh Whannell & Corbett Tuck, Lauren Schuker Blum & Rebecca Angelo (Dumb Money).

The film is produced by Blumhouse founder and CEO Jason Blum and is executive produced by Ryan Gosling, Ken Kao, Bea Sequeira, Mel Turner and Leigh Whannell. Wolf Man is a Blumhouse and Motel Movies production.

Being this close to release, why would they spoil the transformation scene of all the things to save for the movie but now I’m 100% convinced he transforms more at some point

His animal point of view of his surroundings when he transforms is very cool, as well as his howl too.

It's eerie how strangely calm the feel of the transformation scene is by comparison to other werewolf films! Chilling and epic in a weird way! Especially seeing the visuals through the werewolf's eyes.

Wow, I may not like the design but I'm loving the execution!
0:48 Also the way he sees everything changed, which is a pretty cool detail

The fact they went with practical effects is something i realy appreciate. Gonna buy a ticket for this one.

I always had a deep belief that making a great Werewolf/Wolf-Man movie would always be better than a great Zombie movie. I feel that there’s more lore going and more to play around with when using the Werewolf mythos

It’s cool seeing his perspective in what he see’s as he transforms more.

With the director stating he’s taking big inspiration from Cronenberg’s The Fly, I think it’s likely more changes will happen as the movie goes on and eventually he’ll be more like what we expected.

This is clearly a panicked attempt to not scare away audiences from the possibility of having a hairless werewolf, but it does confirm that the transformation is a slow grueling process, and we are ultimately going to get a hairy wolfman…hopefully…

I hope he evolves into a proper Werewolf design by the end.

As much as I dislike the Wolf man’s design in this movie, i can’t deny, the body horror and the practical effects look incredible!

I did not expect that he snapped his own jaw..

Three things I'm starting to like so far:
1. The slow transformation building up without Rick Baker's style.

2. Sound designs of the transformation and howling are top notch to my ears.

3. The Wolfman's point of view is visually stunning and absolutely monster-like.

If nothing else, it has excellent sound design

I like the tone and the style of this. It would be very interesting to see him “struggle” with the effects and the transformation and the fact that he becomes more and more a Monster.
And also i would really love to see if he is not only “The Monster” of the Story because he is still partially human.
~ He could somehow “change back” to human nature, or his mind could somehow still stick inside of him. That’s something we all fear. To slowly loose control! To do something terrible but you can’t stopp it.
I think also about what if you do something very, very terrible and at the next day you “wake up” and realise what you or something inside of you just did. The true struggle would be within the fight inside and outside and also in connection with the old Mythology of “the Wolf Men”. This would be awesome!

Honestly, I'm not sure how I feel about this werewolf. I actually prefer Wolfman 2009 movie cause the werewolf look really cool and scary. This version look more like a prototype of how the werewolf should look like. However that howling really gave me a chill down my spine, so I might watch this.

Honestly? I like it. It's still a werewolf. It's Glabro, isn't it?

There is also the possibility that it is not a complete transformation.
