Only operate the remote while seated in the drivers seat. You should have control of your vehicle at all times. Safety first.

car with winch is in Park mode? which gear? handbrake?.. and the other car, is in neutral? or its on 1 st gear and pushing the gas pedal?

I have a question. Is there any way to use the "car winch" at home?

Connect the battery disconnected from the car to the winch, then connect the battery connected to the winch to the battery charger and plug the charger into the 110V in the house.
What do you think of this method?

And I saw a comment saying that connecting the winch directly to a battery disconnected from a car can overload the battery, which can shorten the battery life and be dangerous. Is that really so?

Was the xterra on park with ebrake on? Or was it on reverse with ebrake on?

you mean a PTO (power take off) driven winch, these are more common on commercial or agricultural vehicles with a few exceptions. :-)

This was lame! In Texas you'de get your ass kicked for making this! It's not even a tow for crying out load, this sucks. Stay in city, you will feel smarter there ;)
