When the spy begins leaking top secret intel that could jeopardize national security, the two units are each assigned to investigate each other. In this tense situation where if they cannot find the mole, they may be accused themselves, Pyong-ho and Jung-do slowly start to uncover the truth. In the end, they must deal with an unthinkable plot to assassinate the South Korean president...

Such a great movie with tons of great actors and actresses. I feel bad for Chief Kim since what he wants is to return the people’s freedom, while Park assumes that peaceful unification idea is possible.

For foreigners who don't understand, I will explain this. This movie is set in the 1980s. South Korea later became president after a soldier took control in a coup. It was a period of political turmoil, such as the death of citizens who were protesting against dictatorship after that. Also, North Korea constantly threatened the Republic of Korea after the war with North Korea ended in 1953. Not only did they threaten by force, but they also sent spies to get information and instigate citizens. So, using this as an excuse, South Korea's Central Intelligence Agency had enormous power. The movie shows that some spies were found, but some unfair citizens were killed. Also, South Koreans were deceived by North Korean spies to protest. This is because North Koreans and South Koreans come from the same family and ethnic background even if they do not meet in "38 lines."

After all, this era is similar to the Cold War era, like the U.S. and Russia, and it is a movie that tries to find spies. North Korea has long tried to put spies in key government agencies. That is, they get information from North Korean officials who are trying to defect to South Korea and they suspect each other to find North Korean spies. Also, there is something called Cho Chong-ryeon in the movie, which is a group of Japanese who support North Korea. This group is mostly parents and their children from North Korea. So North Korea created spies by using them.
So this movie was a period of political instability due to the military instability that had not yet stabilized after the war and the post-coup rule.

This movie gave me RRR (Telugu film) vibes. The story is an inverted RRR set in the world of 80s Korean espionage. The motivations of Park and Kim are so much like that of Ram and Bheem.
