I’m not saying I doubt you but i need a better explanation of what you are saying. The government “negotiates” with the drug companies? You mean force them? If the drug. Companies make pennies why are their stock prices high? How do we pay for R&D?

What he doesn’t mention is that the government does most of the R&D for pharmaceuticals. So in fact, it’s the Pharma companies that are freeloading on the government.

This isn’t the full story. For example, Canada and other countries pay far less than the US for insulin by legislating a maximum price. But that doesn’t explain why insulin costs are so high in the US. And I’ve never heard an explanation. It’s not research costs since this is a very old drug. Other explanations I’ve heard don’t seem reasonable either, except just drug companies charge as much as they can get away with.

I would disagree, looking at the cost of R&D and profits made, the numbers don't add up to me. Plus Yaron himself has said letting the health care system negotiate with the pharma would allow for lower pricing
