Because of the cost of Servers and stuff, but if you look at the benefits of the PS+ it pays for itself, gives you a free game library from the start as well as beta's, discounts on games, free previews, and so on, very consumer oriented

Things in Europe are generally more expensive. Frankly it's still a good price point, for example its £399 for an ipad in the UK and in the US it's $499 given the exchange rate £399 = $630. That's just how EU prices have always been and its reflected in Euro to dollar also.

Smart. Made it a point to show that it will allow used games, no mandatory internet, and cheaper.

I signed back up for 3 months of plus today. Picked a new name to use for the ps4 and everything. Oh, and I am going to support them by streaming every game I play. (With a dedicated pc of course :)

Yeah, I agree. But my problem with the Wii U is the lack of 3rd party support.

Also the plus side is that there still making games for Microsoft which gives us the best of both worlds

It was stating that its just under 5 bucks a month. A year subscription to PS+ is 50 bucks

Though you get Playstation Plus which is such a good offer that you should already get it, for the price of one game a year you get over 20 new games free and Vita games. And you get beta access to some games. It makes sense to get PS+ anyway.

Price of games are the same at around 60 bucks. And it does indeed have Netflix and you do not need a PS+ account for Netflix and other media features. Those are all free.

@Jeremy James. Dude it's 60 dollars for a year. You get real benefits from it too. Discounted games, free games, beta testing for select games, and a cleaner online experience. But either way you still get great games for single player and local multiplayer. So it's your decision regardless. Join the Plus club and rock wit us online man! Need a squad for destiny and Tom Clancy the division.

Its pretty reasonable to pay for online and it's cheaper than xbox live also you get a lot more out of it. Also this will allow them to make online better and improve features for the PSN network

the ps4 has a dedicated chip for downloading and installing, so it can be done quickly in the background while you do other things

Considering the economy in North America and in Europe, the prices aren't that different

They need the money, plus its only for multiplayer. You can still get demos and games from the Ps Store.
