IGN News - Play Your PS4 Games From Multiple Consoles

Sony has confirmed that players will be able to access their PlayStation 4 game library by logging into their account from any console.

if you have a disc, you will most likely have to pay full price, but you will own that game and can do what you want with it. But if you download you can access it from anywhere and potentially get it cheaper of the store because they don't have to pay the publishers and for cases and for making the discs etc. You also don't have to put the disc in when you want to play. This will also fill up your hard drive faster. In the end it comes down to personal preference.

No, Microsoft had both what I mentioned before AND that which you are speaking of presently. You could, before the 180 turn on policies, access any of your digital game library from any other XBone, just as the Ps4 is revealed to do now.

I liked the Idea of DRM, means less piracy, better products. the 24hr checking was to authenticate that you we're playing from someones library, and to update your stats.

You're right, it's not like it's like this in sports or movies or cell phones or GPU/CPU makers or any other form of entertainment anywhere.

You can already do this. Just sign in and go to your download history. On Xbox if you want your friend to keep the game, then you license transfer. This is just an improved feature. You no longer wait for the game to finish downloading. I'm sure Xbox will do the same since this is one of those features that both must have. Like the "cloud", it's in both systems

Just so you know, in an interview they said that developers can choose to disable to share button on parts of the game that they don't want leaked, so as long as the developer is smart about it, it shouldn't be a big problem.

PS: what MS should do is bring back family sharing (including split-screen on second devise) for digital downloads only. I think that if the community asks for this enough they might add it in an update.

I'd say you are kind of right about PS4 and Xbox One, only from my point of view, the multimedia aspect is not a hindrance. The only thing Microsoft needs to change is its policy on Indie Games, then it can trump Sony in an area that matters to gamers.
Oh, Halo 3 was left on a partial cliff hanger, it was probably just a way to leave the book partly closed/open, allowing microsoft to re-open it down the line... naturally they did so i feel a sequel made sense, and most people really like Halo 4.

yeah, they showed it in the user interface commercial, the guy was playing knack while downloading killzone and then getting out of knack and starting up killzone multiplayer if I recall correctly.

Well, you don't know for sure yet. PS3 can share libraries with other people, so it would be the same for the PS4. They might allow the 2 people signed in on the same account policy, but only time will tell.

this is very cool and why this didn't happen sooner or on all consoles with it being a possiblility for downloading movies and music I have no idea why ps4 just keeps getting better and better

I feel the xbox actully has better exclusives to the console as of now(microsoft exclusives) than the ps4.

Banjo & Kazooie, Fez (it was originally), Below, Crimson Dragon, D4, Fantasia, Killer Instinct, Ryse, Amped 3, Fable 3, Forza 5, State of Decay, The Witcher 2, ... and wtf with the shooters? There are awesome shooters out there, such as Quantum Break, Halo or Sunset Overdrive
