China's GDP expands 4.8% in Q1, beats all forecast | Business and Economy | WION

Taking a look at China's GDP data and here suggesting a worsening economy as sweeping covid-19 curbs and Russia-Ukraine war take toll on economic activity. China's growth has slowed in March a bit however GDP estimates were better than expectations.

4.8% is not low for an 18T economy but a little low for China. The first quarter GDP is 4.25T which is bigger than Germany…In China's current situation, GDP in the first quarter was the lowest in their four quarters, accounting for only 21.7% of the economy in the whole year.

China's economic growth picked up in the first quarter of this year, with GDP growing by 4.8% year-on-year in the first quarter and 1.3% quarter-on-quarter compared to the fourth quarter of 2021. Better than market expectations.
In 2022, China's economy will have a generally stable start.

A Reuters poll of analysts earlier predicted that China's economy would grow by 4.4 percent year-on-year in the first quarter and 0.6 percent quarter-on-quarter. Economists polled by Bloomberg predicted that China's economy would grow by 4.3% year-on-year and 0.7% month-on-month.
