Emergency Demolition, Silver Spring

Показать описание
JoAnn Leleck Elementary School in Silver Spring, Maryland, was vacant and awaiting demolition when it caught fire the night of September 24. On September 25, Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services decided it would be easier to put out the fire if they could tear open the building to expose hot spots to their fire hoses. Five excavators from three companies demolished the building by the end of the day.

How can a vacant building Mysteriously catch fire? Lightning? Homeless? Maybe someone got tired of waiting? What catches fire in a mostly brick building with the power turned off? It doesn't matter anymore; the building is getting demolished either way.

I said more or less the same thing a few hours ago but my comment has mysteriously vanished.
