For those who were watching the series one episode at a time, this episode was shocking and one of the most impactful scenes in television history. Just couldn't believe it. Wanted justice for Opie so bad, which is one way I knew SOA was a fantastic TV show. Simply amazing the way it made you feel.

When Jax watch Opie die it took a huge layer from Jax's humanity and compassion. Opie was the barrier that stopped and made Jax think before he over reacted. Opie knew what he was thinking without Jax having to say anything. That's why Jax could never lie and get away with it around Ope. When he lost Tara that was it for the final layer of Jax's humanity and compassion. It opened that pandora's box to the ruthless, aggressive, vengeful side of him that would run over anyone that got in his way, almost destroying the one thing he only had left to live for which was the Club. This only happened because the influences that guided him were not there anymore and they were killed tragic and violently. Which further sent Jax in to a spiral before finally becoming remorseful and hating himself for all the things he had done.

You can just feel how helpless Jax feels as he has to watch his best friend and brother get killed right in front of him. His screams when Opie takes the hit for Jax and his face says it all. A part of Jax's character definitely died right then and there.

I didn't watch SOA when it aired, but my best friend told me about it earlier this year. I watched it all 7 seasons on Hulu in about 2 months. This was the most shocking and heart wreching scene from the show in my opinion. Opie was was of the few characters that I felt didn't deserve all the bad that happened to him.

They killed this man wife and lied and covered it up while he was going above and beyond for the gang while internally he wanted to live a different life which caused strife between him and his father. Smh. I’m glad I’m not the only one who took his death hard. Opie was the man!!! After all this time I randomly run across this clip and get re-traumatized 😩 Long Live Opie!!
