I gotta say, the ambiant hoody (lighter weight than the ambiant jacket) is my favorite piece of new gear. Great for the chilly morning going to the stand and not overheating. Wore it on several AT section hikes over the winter and it was clutch.

You want great odds on an elk hunt? Hunt over the counter bull elk tags along the coast closer to Astoria/Warrenton/ Cannon beach/ Seaside/ and junction 53! I have not been back in a while, but was very rare to go without filling out a tag. Last time I hunted there, I had moved out of state like Meer months after buying my elk tag. So negotiated a week off flew in and my brother picked me up and hunted with him shot my biggest elk ever.

Merino is very quiet but I've got buddies who run Sitka and it's very noisy. You can hear them walking 20 yards away. I can't imagine how far a deer or elk could hear them. That is just my opinion.
