2023 Peugeot 408 Review
Показать описание
The 2023 Peugeot 408 is not like other cars. Part-hatchback, part-SUV, and part-coupe, it's actually based on the 308 but brings a style all of its own.
Let CarGurus help you find your next car:
In this CarGurus UK review, Vicky Parrot reports from the car's European launch in Spain where she's been getting to grips with exactly where the 408 sits in the market. As with other Peugeots, its available with one petrol engine (a 1.2-litre turbo) and a choice of two plug-in hybrid powertrains (the 180 and 225), all of which are paired with an eight-speed automatic gearbox. PHEV 408s can drive up to 40 miles on battery power alone, and charging takes less than 2hrs from a wall-mounted 7kWh home charger.
The Peugeot 408 is on sale now, giving you a style-focused alternative to the likes of evergreen crossovers like the Nissan Qashqai. Prices start from £31,050 for a 128bhp petrol model or £38,400 for a 178bhp hybrid in Allure trim. Standard features include 17-inch alloy wheels, LED headlights, a 180-degree parking camera and, on the inside, leatherette upholstery and ambient lighting.
Allure Premium models start from £32,175 and add 19-inch alloy wheels, keyless entry, and a suite of autonomous driving aids. GT versions, meanwhile, get a sporty body kit on the outside and a 3D instrument binnacle display on the inside. Driving modes mean you can also adjust the car’s steering, throttle and gearbox.
First Edition models cost an eye-watering £45,000, although they only come with the top-of-the-range 222bhp plug-in hybrid powertrain and get posh kit like electrically adjustable-, heated- and massaging seats.
