Xperia 5 - Sony Side Sense... Does it Make Sense?

This is not my Sony Xperia 5 review, however I am reviewing all the trash that people have said about the Sony side sense feature. I wanted to find out if the criticism was justified. So I tested it out thoroughly & here is what I found.

Its useful. Got the Xperia 1 following your reviews. You can change the functionality i can multi-window with options to decide what pair apps i can use simultaneously etc as mentioned. Its convenient if you’re familiar with the phone. Was annoying at first but you can position it and that.

only 2 criticisms, need a forward option for chrome and redo the multi-window option for the chrome tabs to be as fluid as the Late Z and all XZ models.

Its a gimmick but one I’m enjoying the benefits. Its not too different to crtl shortcuts on pc just limited.

I have X1 and I turned side sense off. Well, after watching your video, it sure does have its uses. I might turned it on after all. Many thanks.

I could test the Xperia 1 a bit and the side sense is really useful, it should be for the Xperia 5 as they have the same screen format, otherwise this year I missed the Xperia 1/5, I'm waiting next year for the "Xperia 1 II" with its 6 sensors

In settings, you can also configure side sense to operate in the inner edge of the screen...very handy when you have a case/cover...

Got the Xperia 1 after finding a great deal online (£246!), and I have to say the cameras are fantastic. I was previously an XZ Premium user (& I used the XZ3 for a while, but I sold it after a month) and the cameras are so much better. Especially in low light situations.
I turned side sense off straight away as I kept pressing it by accident & didn't find it useful for me

I changed the functionality of the side sense swipe-up to take a screenshot, and I use it all the time! I much prefer it over any other way to take a screenshot on my Xperia 5II

I don't understand why the most of YouTube phone reviewers They deliberately for Sony Xperia in there stupid review actually they look so stupid and non professional they have to spend more time with the devices to learn how to use all the features, thank you bro for your efforts and to make your video reviews more professional and useful every time 👍

Great video ! Can you take some long exposure shots with the phone like shooting stars or a better night shooting for street photography. If you do use manual white balance cz the shots either get too yellow or too red. Keep it up you've got some pretty consistent content😊

Would be great if you could shoot a video on Xperia 1 or 5 in stabilized 1080p and apply editing and LUTs. Just to see what quality level can be achieved with this setup. Also a comparison between Xperia 1 main sensor, S10, Iphone 11 and one of the best FF-mirrorless cameras (e.g. Sony A7 III) - focus on dynamic range, color accuracy etc. and what can be achieved in POST via software.

Love xperia devices, this xperia 5 was suppose to be my upgrade now my xz premium has finished, but as, its not really different from the Xperia 1, I'm going to wait for next year's flag ship which usually gets announced late Jan early Feb time

Wich one do you recommend the most, Xperia 1 or Xperia 5? I don't care much about the 4K display, and I prefer the size of the X5, but you have tested both, so, I'll wait for your answer before I buy any of these phones.

glad u speak about side sense and how to use it properly - wanted to do a video about it, just to show all these "specialists" on YouTube how stupid they are ^^

I use double tap to go back in apps, very useful and convenient :D swipe up for the side Sense menu, but I selected myself which apps it shows. And swiping down gets the notifications down, so I don't need to stretch my hand on my Xperia 1.

Would say the Xperia 1 with side sense is the best big device u can use one handed, especially when u consider the aspect ratio.

The way u say don't touch the side of the screen touch the black bezel. Is that the same for Sony 1 mark 4 ? Cause on here I see an actual bar that's visible

Actually you dont have to swipe that far...im using the side sense mostly as a back button since its long ratio its kind of hard press the back button so side sense really helpful and i hope you make a video about the cinema app
