A lot of people are quitting also for their mental health. With Covid, forced vaccination, low wages, overbearing hours and unrealistic expectations.. people are mentally tired and physically tired.

I quit my job as a production manager after being forced to work the job of ten people. I burned out and there was little compassion for my mental health and loyalty. I'll never forget the way I was treated.

From what I’m seeing is the people who are quitting are people who worked threw the whole pandemic with no raise and double the work responsibilities and are finally snapping, I know this cause I I’m one of those people 🤷‍♂️

Not a millennial but I quit my job for about 6 months. Had a good cushion in the bank to just relax and explore other options for a while. Apparently things went to crap when I left. My old boss called and offered me a raise to come back as well as my preference on work scheduling. I took the offer and told him I'd put in 40 hours a week but in 3 days. That's about 13-ish hours a day for 3 days and then 4 days off a week. Its pretty brutal for those 3 days, but the extra time off is totally worth it. So now I make more money and only work 12 days a month with the exact same work output. Sometimes I use the extra time to make supplemental income using various methods(eBay and screen printing in my case). So I'm actually far exceeding my previous income in a fraction of the time. Point being, flexibility goes a long way. A lot of people can do their jobs just as effectively from home or in tighter schedules with the same results. I think millennials value their time more than boomers who wear their wasted work lives as a badge of honor. Millennials are finding better ways to balance their lives and income strategy in a changing world. I feel sorry for people who think they're special for choosing to work 60-80 hours a week. I'm more impressed with people who manage to work less, make more, and enjoy their lives.

QUITTING IS A FABULOUS the bills start coming in and the stimulus checks disappear. Everyone has a plan until they need to eat. But quitting after finding a better job does make sense. I like Nicks idea for looking for better jobs. That makes sense.

Women have also figured out that going to work and putting kids in daycare is not worth it. When you consider daycare, transportation, eating lunch out, and clothing costs, most don't come out that far ahead. In addition, they're too tired after work to cook and do house chores and they have concluded, it's just not worth it.

Why the jobs aren’t being filled? “Entry level” requires 2 years professional experience

Flexibility, mental health, happiness, and freedom. Are some of the key factors on why people quit and more importantly taking that risk to manage thier own time. The workplace is changing at a rapid rate.

Im an insurance broker. With the exception of meeting with a client that is scheduled, I can literally do EVERY part of my job from my home office but management is making us come in. As a single parent, it is killing me to sit in an office knowing my son is at home by himself (he's 15). I can do my job at home just as well and better than I can in the office.

I'm an architect and I worked from home for a few months and my boss is old school and forced us all back in during the peak of covid. As such I am moving jobs this week to another firm that has decided to keep it hybrid permanently ontop of a solid raise.

I asked and got a massive raise because everyone else quit. Thanks Millennials! 😀👍

One of the reasons you gave for people quitting their jobs is that you mentioned an average commute time of 30-40 minutes each way. I live in Texas now but about 1-1/2 years ago I lived in the Seattle area. I lived in a suburb called Bothell and had a job with a major software company headquartered in Redmond, Washington (hint hint!). Even though I lived only 22 miles away from my job, my commute time was literally 90 minutes each way! (No, that's not a typo -- NINETY MINUTES EACH WAY!!!) So by working from home, I regained THREE HOURS back each day! I will never work from an office unless it's within a 5-minute commute time and they compensate me for my commute.

Who wants to work 5 days a week in a building? I work from home and now I spend time with my family a lot more. I also have the option to travel and work with no problem. I don’t feel confined to a single space and my work is being completely effectively at my pace, my comfort, and a positive mental state. I’m not worried about having to use PTO anymore or looking forward to that “one” exciting week of my life because the other weeks I’m confined to an office space.

We shouldn’t feel like 50 weeks out of a year we’re imprisoned in our own mind and jobs and only have the luxury of one week to two weeks off. It’s bullshit and the remote work made people realize that we can work and live an equally flexible & enjoyable life.

Thankfully, my company listened to our survey and decided to stay permanently hybrid and at most, go into office a couple to a few times a month. If companies decide to pull their employees back into office full time, more and more employees will walk out.

Lol Ive been working at my company for 4 yrs and been askin for a raise every year and they always dodged the question or cicrcled around it so I gave my resignation and I’m about to dip on Wednesday. Only reason I stayed is because I was already working from home prior to covid and it was barely work until I was moved to a new client and was like F this I don’t get paid enough and it just so happened that my dad was diagnosed with Mesothelioma and then a year and a half after covid hit. But since the economy seems to favor employees right now I’m negotiating the crap out of my next salary, making sure I’m working from home in my next job, and already have gotten started on a side business so I can permanently be my own boss. Either way I’m feelin real nice

Toxic coworkers, and supervisors/bosses. Generic low pay. Being treated like crap n expendable, they can n will fire but want 2 weeks notice if u decide to leave.

Nobody talking about the Real reason corps are forcing "back to the office". Real estate. Rich managers and executives who own houses near the office don't want their homes to depreciate in value - if the peons could work from anywhere and moved away.
This is the reason every company that put out surveys had a majority if not 95% of employees say they would prefer full time remote work. Yet the higher ups who make the decisions have a house that's the shortest commute from office buildings. Those 5% are making the decision to screw the rest of everyone else not because offices create a 'collaborative' environment. It's selfish evil greed. Force all other workers to risk a car accident every day, pollute the environment, clog traffic, and pay unaffordable rents because they're financially secure but can never have enough.

Do those surveys again, but link responses with their address and if they own or rent a house. You'll see who the minority is that is making the call to "bring employees back" and why!
