This song helped me through a really tough part of my life. It will always be dear to me. There are so many different songs that God uses to speak to you in different times of your life. Sometimes you hear one message and then another. Sometimes you hear something you don't wanna hear. And sometimes you don't hear anything at all. This is one of those songs...

at first i wasn't to sure with the new style, but after a few weeks fell in love. not the old rap-based matis., but still doing his thing. saw him in NYC Terminal 5. was a great show. also got on stage with matis and got to sing One day which was epic. respect!

I love this song. I had never head of Matisyahu before. I did hear his “One Day” song once for a few seconds on a TV commercial but that was years ago and I didn’t know who he was or who sang the song. Recently, like in the last month or so, I went to a lady friend’s YouTube channel that I am subscribed to. In one of her videos her little three-year-old daughter was singing the song “One Day” and I really liked it. It was cute also hearing her daughter sing it. She also kindly put a link in the notes section of that video saying who the song was from and that was the first time I heard of Matisyahu’s name. I put his name in the YouTube search engine and then in the regular search engine and began learning about him. At first it was interviews Matisyahu had given and I liked what he had to say. You can tell his heart is pure and he has a lot of love in him, he’s a gentle soul. In one interview, around the middle of it, the video went to a clip of him giving a concert and he was singing a song that I liked. I liked the beat and melody and the words but I didn’t know what the song was called so I just started writing down whatever words I could understand him saying and then the video clip went back to the interview. I put those words I had written down into the regular search engine and it ended up being his “Sunshine” song. I then put that song in the YouTube search engine and the first time I listened to it, with lyrics, I cried, happy tears, I was so touched and moved by it. It actually felt like an invisible cupid arrow struck me straight in the heart, that’s the feeling I had. It was the “golden sunshine” part because I have blond hair and when I was younger my mother told me once that when she watched me walk to elementary school, I had to walk by our hedges and all she saw was my blond head over the bushes and that my hair looked like gold to her. My heart sort of has always wanted to be a guy’s “golden sunshine” which is the whole blond hair thing, but what really opened the flood gates of tears for me in this song was the end part where Matisyahu says, “Walk with me now, talk with me now baby, walk with me mama talk with now.” That just made the dam break so to speak of tears but again it was happy tears. Because that’s also what my heart has always longed for, is for a guy to say walk with me and talk with me, tell me your heart, and he would do the same for me and tell me what’s going on in his heart, mind, life, whatever he wants to share. You are both just each other’s best friend. It was the golden sunshine part that struck me with a cupid arrow but it was the walk with me and talk with me that really sent me over the edge crying happy tears and it was wonderful and beautiful. I have no regrets. After this of course I had to find out more about Matisyahu and I’ve been listen to his music. He is very talented. I pray that God will keep him safe and that he will always know that he is loved and is never alone. A lot of his fans love him and so does God. :-) Christine
