Have you actually listened to the songs on Spark? Matthew is still very clearly devoutly Jewish. He praises the Lord in almost all of them and there's a Hebrew prayer in at least half of them. It's such a unique-sounding and beautifully joyous album. He's representing Jews and peace-desirers around the world alike. The clothes do not define the man, nor does the facial hair.

pure joy, i wish i were riding on the back of that bike, just being in Israel is joyful, i don't blame him for looking so happy. and stop ripping on Matis cause of his look or hair situation, he can dress the way he wants, it's the music that counts and he's still a great Jew.

yea I guess but still its kind of his thing. I'm sure we shouldn't be going into great detail about it but it was kind of his thing. now hes dying his hair and wearing scarfs lol but like I said i'll always be a matis fan. every time i listen to his first album and youth I feel closer to hashem and it not only feels right but also I learn more about myself on a spiritual level....I hope this new album will do the same thing.

first no beard, now no kippah?! I hope he doesnt forget his roots and how it all started from "Shake off the Dust Arise". I will always be a Matis fan but this new album sounds too mainstream, I feel like the record company had a lot more to do with the style of this album then matis intended. i dont get that feeling like I did from his past albums.
