This is a reply I just made to someone on here and I want to put it front and center for anyone else who wants to tell me I'm wrong for not putting bts first just because they worked so hard.
They aren't my top group anymore. There's like 20 groups I like better than them now. I know they worked hard but so have many other groups who don't get the same recognition. Im friends with an ex idol and he was abused the whole time he was an idol but he went through it because he wanted to be successful. But he never got the recognition. The members of the rose got money stolen from them by their company for years and spent those years having a hard time affording ramen every day yet they stuck through it but never got recognition. B.a.p, the group bts copied for their debut, spent a year hiatus to sue their company for mismanagement and abuse. They were world famous before bts existed but lost a lot of their popularity after bts debuted using b.a.p's concept. Bts aren't the only ones who work hard. They were never hit. They were never harassed by their management. Their managers never stole money from them. They were never starved by their management. They actually have it better than a lot of smaller groups. I know bts are amazing people and they have good music, but are you even able to explain why they got so popular? Other groups have similar music with similar styles about positivity and loving yourself and being who you are. Some who even came before bts. So why did bts specifically become so popular?
