This effort, as ineffective as it was, has been one of the very few positive items in Biden's otherwise sorry, catastrophic and failed foreign policy. Perrillo's support for working with the chaos of the civilian forces is a huge plus. As a Sudanese-Armenian American, I am not surprised by the level of disinterest in this tragedy. Sudan is simply not seen as it is, the urheimat of the human species, but rather as an other. It is seen as too African for the Arab world, too Islamic for the West, too Arab for Africa, and too distant for Asia. We have artists like Nancy Ajaj, Muhammad Wardi, Tarbas whose songs are not even heard let alone appreciated outside Sudanese circles.

Answer to the first question is a five-letter word called greed.
Without human greed there would be no wars or famines.
