China's economy posts 4.8% growth on-year in Q1 this year

China's economic growth fell short of the government's target in the first quarter.
According to China's National Bureau of Statistics, from January to March, the country's gross domestic product grew by about 4-point-8 percent compared to a year earlier.
China's official target growth rate, as of last month, was 5-point-5 percent.
And although the figure did beat the market expectation, analysts say the first quarter figures don't reflect the effects of the lockdown in Shanghai.
China has been struggling to curb its worst outbreak of COVID-19 since the pandemic started.
