How dare GM go into any partnership when they still owe us the taxpayers hundreds of million dollars from the bailout.

Scotty videos are amazing. I'm a visual learner. Autistic. So seeing theses videos helps me understand. I like cars. And learn a lot from Scotty. Thank you Scotty.

I did the math on the back of an envelope a couple of years ago.
If everyone with a car in the UK was to swap to an EV, there isn't enough electricity in EUROPE to run them.
Crazy!

My power went earlier today because of hurricane Ian, can't imagine the nightmare if they want every car to consume electricity

I'm fine with them selling EVs but not forcing them on everyone.

as an electrican i cant stress enough how its impossible too build a batterycharger in every home the electrical grid could never support it and all apartmentblocks will need to rebuild the electrical system to even have one charger per and this needs be done befor ppl buy ev in the first

Remember the snow storms when people were stuck on the road for more then 12 hours, ev's had no power- no heat, nothing against ev's, but something to think about

I bought an electric lawn mower, chainsaw & leaf blower (all cordless) a few years ago, they do the job but that's is as far as I'm willing go for now. It gets too cold here in Canada for me to even consider buying an ev.

The sheer number of data needed for this video is mind-blowing, really, you started with Joe's Policy and ended with some company in some country's development project. First, there's the theme and just then you have to structure it, find videos or create an animation that people can relate to, think of the narration, and the flow, and put everything together. It's a full-fledged documentary film. The craziest part is, I can fully comprehend this, I'm not even an automotive enthusiast. Great job and wonderfully executed.

One of my concerns for EV's is battery failure, premature decline, or being outpaced by advances in battery tech. The NIO business model seems to eliminate that concern. Very interested in their introduction into the US market.

Thanks Scotty, it's amazing how many people don't even know where electricity comes from, here in the US:
around 60% - fossil fuels, including coal, natural gas, ans petroleum
almost 20% - nuclear
around 20% - renewable energy

Scotty mentioned but did not address the electricity grid issue. There are 100 million cars in the US which travel an average of 35 miles per day. If 50% have to be EV's and an EV gets 3.5 miles/Kw, that's 10Kw per day for 50 million cars. Is there capacity in the grid to supply 1/2Billion KW per night every night?

It’s an answer to a problem that doesn’t exist. Imagine trying to flee from a hurricane or earthquake after the grid is down and your non green EV isn’t charged. Also like in Colorado they can just be shut down. Congressional committees say that an EV is like having 4 more air conditioning units ALL YEAR LONG. This is a government plan to control your freedom of movement

EVs offer nothing for us who own and maintain our vehicles.

And absolutely none of this is for the benefit of customers.

Great video. I really think that the NIO model is going to be a game changer. Even with a fast charge, you cannot make big road trips without being forced to take a rest. That's great for the relaxing road trip, but if you have screaming kids or a work deadline, you don't want to wait to charge up. Buying a used EV is scary not knowing how long the battery will last. Depreciation is a huge factor! Thanks for opening the eyes to the new tech that is coming our way.
