One of the most recognizable voices you’ll ever hear.

Probably why he was so fantastic in Random Harvest with Greer Garson.

Sad trauma of war, Ronald and his wife Gloria were delightful on the radio as frequent guest stars on his real life friend and neighbor Jack Benny

He was Jack Benny’s next door neighbor on his radio show. It was a funny running gag that he hated Jack.

Virtually nothing was known about PTSD and concussive brain injuries. Machines made mass slaughters possible. Even among the history of wars WWI was beyond brutal.

From 1914 to 1918, Flanders Fields in the country of Belgium was a major battle theatre during the First World War. A million soldiers from more than 50 different countries were wounded, missing or [unalived] in action here. Entire cities and villages were destroyed, their population scattered across Europe and beyond.

He’s indirectly responsible for one of the most iconic punch lines in comedic history! “I’m thinking it OVER”! 🤣

Always enjoyed Robert Colman’s movies. He died in my city many years ago and is buried here—Santa Barbara

The actor frequently had that "distant stare" as part of his persona, perhaps this is why.

War warps humans minds. How could you see what an artillery shell does to a body or of a child and still be the same!
God Bless Our Vets.

A really sad statement from him. War has a devastating effect... How many young men were ruined? I know for sure that the fathers of my own generation, baby boomers, were wrecked by WWII. Alcoholism, constant smokering and violence are the legacy of war veterans. 😢 And then their sons had to face Vietnam. 😢

What a profound and heartbreaking quote...
