I just saw your excellent video here in 2024. We were flooded out of our house in that flood. We had 4 1/2 feet of water in our house in King Lake, and lost everything in our 1st floor. Our daughter and her family, down the road lost almost everything.
But God is good.
Yes, people pulled together, and even a crew from faraway Tennessee came over and helped us tear out and rebuild our main floor. We were so grateful for all the people who helped us.

I had a good friend move from California to Nebraska for work. I thought he was crazy, due to the cold weather and tornadoes, but he said the people were great there. Now I see why he moved - these are the kind of people I'd like to call my friends.

I live in Canada In some very low land and I know what it's like when the ground still frozen and you have a Spring thaw. There is nowhere for the water to go. My house has been flooded 5 times since the 80s.I now have some new drainage ditches dug going towards the Lake and so far so good gust keep my fingers crossed and hope for a slow melt. Thats all I can do when old mother nature comes out to play.keep your chin up Nebraska and stay safe things will get better Your friend from Canada🍁

God bless y’all and hopes that you get to replace what you have lost. Keep the spirit. Hometowns count for everything.... community, schools, faith based churches, that’s the heart of Nebraska. This was well done and sorry for the loss. Houstonians have see their share as well.

Lives rebuilt through generosity of strangers and townsfolks. People pulling together in times of trouble. Filled with gratitude. Condolences to lives lost both humans and animals n trees.

We lived in Nebraska for most of our lives. They are hard-working tough people. The small communities stick together and help each other. People call it the fly overstate. That might be true for most people but they need to know that below them are some of the kindest folks they would ever know if they lived there. You learn to wave at every car you pass on a road rather you know them or not. The farmer wave with one finger off the wheel. Someone in need? ... they all pitch in to help. It's not boring to them!!

I'm from a town outside of Fremont that was completely underwater, and it's crazy to think that this was only a year ago...

I attend the University of Nebraska Kearney and I had packed my things to leave as soon as my last class let out. Right before I went into my last class, I got a call from my mom that she had to evacuate and I might not have a home to come back to. She also informed me that there was now no way in or out of Fremont and to just stay there for spring break. I was devastated. I eventually did make it into town and my house was one of the better ones on the block, but the damage I passed was incredible.

Just saw this today. After 4 years, the experience still brings me to tears. Lost our house in Dannebrog, its one they said the center wall is collapsed and 80% destroyed. Heartbreaking experience I wouldn't wish on anyone. Thankfully, I live in Nebraska, where we have so much heart. The state is full of caring people.

Wow... Heartbreaking seeing the water absolutely everywhere. I can't imagine the pain and loss. I love the community spirit in rebuilding and helping others. Would it be possible to build houses etc on stilts? Try raise the towns incase of future floods.. best wishes to all, from me in Co Dublin Ireland ☘️🙂💖

I am sitting here sobbing. I am always watching tsunami videos and horror happening in other countries and yet these nightmares happen here in my own country. This popped up in my feed today and I am sitting here bawling my eyes out. The cows crying as they got washed away, communities coming together with foods and to rescue each other. The rebuilding and bouncing back of rural communities that lost is what America is about. Our news media is so obsessed with politics and agendas that the rest of us even in surrounding states don't hear about nightmares like this happening as we should. God Bless the people of Nebraska.
