My sister died in 1988, she was 15. This was her favorite song and it was played at her funeral. I was only six when she passed but have never been able to listen to this song since she passed, until now. Dan, you make it possible for me to listen to this song again. Hi Dan, I’m a 83 years old grandma, I have a son, that plays bass and lead guitar, I’ve been listening to him playing since he was a teen, and still play heavy metal, rock, Queen, Clapton, Zeppelin, and so on.
Tonite I turned on my 65’tv as usual, I opened the uTube app to listen to Bible reading, before I go to sleep with God’s words lullaby me to sleep.
But before I do that to, I do some surfing, 0:27 your channel came on with you singing “The Sound of Silence, one of my favorite, 0:27 I knew I had to listen to you singing, and am listening to the various songs you sing.
God gave a beautiful gift, an incredible powerful voice.
I don’t do much now, TV keeps me company, and now I’m enjoying listening to the variety of songs you sing .

My son passed away at the age of 25 in 2016 I am his mother and I am 66 we both loved led Zeppelin and other music from back in my day ! I know if my son was alive today he would say you are awesome ! And who knows he might hear you up in heaven with the Angels ! I'm going to continue to listen to you because you are great and you make me feel good with your music when I get depressed about losing my son! Please continue to sing for everyone ❤

Was just playing this in my shop and a customer came in and asked if I ever went to a Led Zeppelin concert, he couldn't believe when I told him it wasn't them singing it was Dan Vask. EXCELLENT!

I lost my beautiful blonde hair n blue eyed daughter 11years ago, she was only 24. She was a passenger in a car accident. Losing her has forever changed me. It's the worse thing any parent can go through.

This song along with "FreeBird" and even "You are my Sunshine" were all played during her services. I have never been able to listen to these 3 songs since then. I have ran out of a store plugging my ears and even screamed at a couple coworkers to change the station if i even hear the first couple notes.

I recently watched a good buddy of mine marry his soul mate. It wasn't a big fancy wedding, it was outside with a few of their closest friends and family members... anyway as i was leaving i heard the "You are my Sunshine"song playing and i did what i usually do plugged my ears. There was a lady that realized it had to be a trigger for me and she very politely asked me if i was OK. I shared with her my loss.
She then said to me that she was so sorry for my loss and that maybe i should try to think of happy memories of her if i hear these songs.
Dan, this is going to be my 1st attempt to listen to you singing one of these songs that i have dodged for 11 years now🙏🤞

I just found Dan Vasc this week and I'm blown away! Like another commenter said, sometimes his voice is better than the original artist of the song.
