My review of the La Marzocco Linea Mini.
As I mention in the review, there is a bit of a pressure lock or something with this machine hence the fact that the brew gauge is doing some weird things, so please ignore that.

This is an old video, and it's on the previous model of the Linea Mini - not the latest Linea Mini R - I'll be reviewing the newer R, and the Micra, soon, so watch this space.

Nice video and a great machine. My main concern would be that it looks like there isn't enough space to put a decent set of scales under the glass. I think a decent e61 machine would offer the same level of performance for less than half the price. Although the e61 won't look as nice or be as well built... thanks

hey mate. I was wondering how the steam wand on the right works for right handed ppl? Its totally opposite every other one Ive seen. I assume it cant be moved? but I wonder if it takes time to get used to steaming on the right? thoughts? I aslo wonder if there's room for a scale under the GH? cheers

Nice! I have a fun question to ask, at least for me, LOL. How would you compare the espresso quality as compared to the Sage Barista Pro? I am asking because I had a BBP for a short time, and returned it back because I wasn't happy with the espresso quality.

Very helpful and informative. You really illustrated the choice perfectly. Do you want to make great espresso? Or do you want to really enjoy making it with a beautiful piece of hardware? I confess... I want the mini!

La Spaziale Vivaldi 2, for half of the price or less. Saturated group, dual boiler, PID, plumbable (or with tank in mini Vivaldi), equally powerful machine from also very reputable brand. La Marzocco LM became hipster's fav thanks to a bunch of 'wannabe baristas' on YouTube that buy this as their first machine without any knowledge of coffee and brewing in general thinking that machine will make the difference. No doubt it's a very good machine, but not worth the same as a solid used car

have you test the Micra ? What about Micra vs Mini match ?

If its wifi enabled can you like this to third party services like Alexa so you can ask Alexa to start up the machine as that would be a good use case for WIFI connectivity.
And if they can get it working with Alexa then most other services should be able to talk to it too.
One thing I would question though is these devices pose a safety risk so I wonder how good there security is with this now falling into the IOT basket.

that machine will still be around in 20 years time and still be pumping out good espresso that's what you pay for

great review. What do you think about LMLM vs Victoria Arduino Prima E1? What would be the other closest alternatives for the prosumer home kitchen? thank you!

Excellent video again Kev. This thing looks like it's an absolute powerhouse of an espresso machine. If I were lucky enough to have the asking money I'd go for it. On a slightly unrelated note I just finished your recent blog post on the perfect beginner setup. Off the back of your series on the bambino plus I picked up a second hand one off ebay for £140 and I'm over the moon with it. And again thanks to your writings about the sage smart grinder pro I managed to buy a new one in installments from balance coffee. That's my beginner setup for roughly £340 and for me, right now, it's spot on. Oh and lastly thanks for replying to my email looking for a bottomless portafilter recommendation for the bambino plus. I'm holding off trying it out until I hopefully get my hands on an IMS competition basket later this month with any luck. Anyway enough of my rambling, great video as usual, thanks for the great content 👍.

Just kidding?
I believe you, I'll let them know your sending it back. but it's going via Australia on a slow boat. should arrive in 3-6 months.
I think they will be ok with that. :D

Kev: you won’t believe how long it took me to get the LMLM joke! This machine looks wonderful, but is one I can only dream of! For a contrast, I’d love to see you review Aldi’s £30 espresso machine I’ve just read about. Wonder how it would compare? 😂

You have an adult son who's a barista? Forget the LMLM - just tell me where you get the Peter Pan Pills to look like you're in your early 30s.

I would be annoyed every time I used that giant fake paddle.

Hi @Kev the LMLM is indeed beautiful BUT its now way behind the technology curve (eg Lelit Bianca) and over priced. The Breville DB produces at least as good coffee; the BIANCA beats it on every level. The DECENT destroys it "in the cup" and if you want all the above for MUCH less money then look at the ~ACS Vesuvius
