As a director, it sounds infinitely less stressful trying to direct a 15 year old over a 12 year old

This is why my theater teacher told us to never tell them our age unless they directly ask lol, congratulations!

For those curious, the only broadway credit I could find for Tessa Netting was for Billy Elliot the Musical so she’s probably talking about that!

So she managed to pull of a lie, and has acting skills so convincing that she manages to fool directors? Yeah, I think she's very much qualified for the position.

He probably appreciated the creativity and tenacity. You were willing to do almost anything to get that part and that showed a ton of determination 👌👌👌👌

Disney casting directors, slowly looking down at the list of 25-30 year olds playing 15-17 year olds:

Of course she was on Broadway! This Queen can literally do anything she puts her mind to!

I love your singing voice and the way you added tension to the story with how you expressed the repeating phrase. It was quite novel...and congratulations on getting that first role.

This is exactly what Mila Kuniz did to get on the “That 70’s Show”, just the opposite. You had to be 18 or about to be 18, but she was 14 when she auditioned. They really liked her and asked if she was 18, she said no, so they asked when she’d turn 18, she said on her birthday, they asked when her birthday was and she only told them the month and day. They assumed she was turning 18 that year so they chose her for the part because she fit it perfectly. Later on when it went into production she told them her real age and said she never lied, she will turn 18 on her birthday.. just not for 4 more years lol. They still kept her on obviously.

Ok i feel a bit bleh for saying, but does anyone else feel like this is a bit of a shitty move?
Ofc its great that you kickstarted your career like this, but could you not wait for a role that was for your age range? For kids, 3 years is a lot of time- 3 years extra experience and practice than many of them makes a huge difference. How many kids (who actually met the criteria) missed out on certain opportunities because of this?

Ok, everyone complaining about her “stealing” a role from a child..
12 year olds and 15 year olds are both considered ✨ children ✨
Move on with your day.
