First look: Volkswagen ID.7 Tourer is coming in 2024

This - still disguised - is the Volkswagen ID.7 Tourer, and it's, fairly obviously, an estate version of the ID.7 saloon. The four-door is due on sale in Ireland early in 2024. The estate, we'll have to wait a bit longer for, but it will be a 2024 model.

I thought the estate wagon, tourer, was coming to the US. I use a wheelchair and though when driving alone any car works since my light weight chair fits on the passenger seat. SUVs are to high when I need to take the chair apart when alone. The cargo space needs to be large enough for a passenger to put the chair in the cargo space w/o taking it apart. (folding the back down is easy) I have had a 1990 MBZ wagon 300 series, a 2006 Volvo V70R (best cargo space ) and currently just purchased a used CPO 2021 E450 all terrain wagon fully loaded with 9800 miles. I have the hand controls ordered and can't wait to drive it. I will keep my 2006 V70R wagon with 148K miles. It will easly get another 50-100 k miles. This ID7 would be a great addition. How much effort is bringing in a EV to the US since there are not emission issues??

Sadly the US customers love SUVs. I don't get it especially those owners like my wife who never drive it off road or even snow. The wagons are so much better drivers. Bring back estate wagons. BTW my only other option beside the E450 all terrain is the Volvo V90. It works for me but the cargo space is just a tad tighter then the E450 but a great wagon. If I started walking tomorrow I would continue driving an estate wagon. Love them.

I wish we could get the tourer in the US. This is my ideal family car. Lovely vehicle!

We need more tourers, had enough of SUVs, and I own one. I miss my BMW tourer so much but there a lack of choice in EVs. I hope it has decent specs and a working entertainment system.

It has to be a tourer or sized in that category because of the space requirements of a family are more than a sedan can handle.
