My wife and I were living on less than one of our individual incomes, so we never bought life insurance. My RSUs (equity grants) function as a form of life insurance, as they get distributed to my wife if I die.

Was pitched life insurance at $250 a month.
I think I’ll just invest that instead and make more $$ than pay it to life insurance

Good stuff. We got 20 year term policies about 2 years ago because of you guys. Thank you

If I have kids I'll get term life insurance. Currently there's no point. No mortgage, no husband, just me. Hopefully I'll have reasons to get it in the future.

I often suggest layered term (10, 20, 30 year) in one policy to make it even cheaper for those just covering income replacement, mortgage, debt, etc.

For those who have young kids like 8 yrs old or below, it is ideal to cover the breadwinner 10x coverage of annual income to make sure whoever will be left behind will be taken care of financially.

Every YouTube "financial adviser" that sells life insurance will always recommend life insurance for every scenario. Humm, why is that? Commissions, maybe??? Doesn't matter what financial situation, Life Insurance will always be part of the solution for them.

There is a saying to never be worth more dead than alive. What about the actual reality of life we aren’t talking about here. I don’t have statistics here but from those around me who have been through this have shown me that when a spouse, partner, long term relationship were to die after the grieving period of less than a year to certainly less than 5 years they move into their next relationship where now another man/woman is used for financial support and help raising the kids. With that said the survivor is back to a comfortable way of living. Should each partner buy and pay premiums on the other since they are the one expected to receive the gains?
