I don't think SSJ2 Gohan is mad or sad. He's in a state of clarity, only one goal in mind. He knows he has to let go of his morals and lose his innocence. He has to kill Cell at all costs. He's not crying from sadness or grief. He's crying because he won't ever be the same after this moment, understandably so. He had to grow up early. He lost friends, was forced into this situation he never wanted to be a part of, and worst of all is responsible for every soul on the planet, let alone the universe if he fails. It's all on him. That's this moment always represented to me
