Plot - The demon king has been defeated, and the victorious hero party returns home before disbanding. The four—mage Frieren, hero Himmel, priest Heiter, and warrior Eisen—reminisce about their decade-long journey as the moment to bid each other farewell arrives. But the passing of time is different for elves, thus Frieren witnesses her companions slowly pass away one by one. Before his death, Heiter manages to foist a young human apprentice called Fern onto Frieren. Driven by the elf's passion for collecting a myriad of magic spells, the pair embarks on a seemingly aimless journey, revisiting the places that the heroes of yore had visited. Along their travels, Frieren slowly confronts her regrets of missed opportunities to form deeper bonds with her now-deceased comrades.

My one and only recently lost her voice due to some health complications, we used to watch Frieren together when it started airing and she used to tell me how her personality is somewhat like Frieren's, and how she looks for me in Himmel. Just last day she returned from the hospital and today she sent me this video. I'm here in my office and I can't stop my tears man. This video means a lot to me, I am so sorry if it is annoying you but Thanks a lot brother/sister, I wish you all the very best for the future.

When it hits that Frieren went from loving magic to only somewhat liking it. To collecting spells just because Himmel told her that her spells were amazing. She loved him, but wasn't aware that what she felt was love.

The song fits really well, when I was little I thought this song was about a woman reminiscing about her life and waiting to be reunited with her dead lover, then I found out it was just twilight.

From episode 1, when I saw the grandpa version of Himmel and how he didn’t introduce a daughter/son or a granddaughter/grandson to Freiren when she arrived… I’ve immediately connected the pieces and was ready to bawl.
