I had to delay the Q3 and Q2 video comparison to next week! Stay tuned :)

It's worth mentioning that the PSVR2 has an almost 20 degree FOV advantage on the G2 and maintains its resolution across it. so this comparison is not doing the headset justice. It's also 10 degrees more than the Index.

I have a Reverb G2, first I've heard of the MS shennanigans wtaf! i wont be updating windows it seems, time to make a snapshot of current system OS!, ofr roll back to Win-10 lol, been saving for the Pimax Super or light, but I guess now there will be zero resale value for my HP G2, well done MS, at least you are true to form, always screw the consumers in the end!

I'm so happy about this, this is Tyriel's first VR screen comparison video in around 7 months! I hope he retries the Pimax Crystal, and when they're out, I hope he makes videos on the Somnium VR-1, Pimax Crystal Super, and Meganex!

What is not good visible in the comparison are the differences in black levels and max. brightness.
For example for black level: In Elite Dangerous all 3 headsets seems to have the same level of black. But in real life there are very noticeable differences.

This is the perfect comparison, a lot of people are out there using these HMD's. It's nice to see all three side-by-side. Thanks! Looking forward to the Quest videos next week!

I totally agree that is crazy a company can pull a trigger like that and make a device unusable, like if out of the blue my stereo or my old laptop stopped working just because end of support. Very anti consumer and i would love a way to bypass or solve this problem. Also that's why we need better alternatives to Meta headsets (the "open" thing is a bit of a bullsh*t).

A dev or group should be able to write an open source replacer for wmr Windows app. Just need to bait them out... Love your channel btw, thank you for all the hard work you put into your content. Trustworthy and accurate

For the supersampling to be effective you need to desactivate AntiAliasing. On oled with sde filter AA isn't the best choice remove the AA and increase the supersampling instead. It makes a HUGE difference also deactivate automatic resolution in-game. At 210 percent I can't see mura or the sde filter everything looks super detailed and sharp.

Hah, Reverb G2 looks best by far on these comparisons. I didn't expect that.

A quick google search suggested that WMR headsets are supported on Linux now. I don't know about how accurate this is, but you may wish to research it. Usually about the time Windows support dies the hard working Linux community usually has already figured out how to support just about everything that is left behind by Windows.

I appreciate the effort that's gone into making this video, thanks Tyriel! Edit... I'm a Quest 3 and PSVR2 owner with the PC adaptor and a high-end rig!

@Tyrielwood I am REALLY looking forward to this same comparison with the Somnium VR1 and Pimax Crystal Light added to it.
Even though those are higher end headsets, having the side by side through the lens comparison is valuable.
Thanks!

Psvr2 looks better than them all, can see you didn’t get the sweet spot right on some

OLED blacks are a huge value add at the price point but it's hard to ignore the extra resolution with the Reverb G2.

Edit: I wonder if the PSVR2's screens are pentile? 🤔

Nice video. Makes sense to compare it to the Index and Reverb G2 since that are one of the few up to date consumer PCVR headsets. But maybe a Rift S would be a good comparison as well.

I've got all of those 3 now. PSVR2 came in today so I cannot say much about it yet. Valve Index was an amazing headset in the past. Still the best build quality. The clarity and comfort are both good but the screen resolution is too low now. Reverb G2 is getting killed by Microsoft. It has a nice sharp display but the sweet spot is low and the comfort on bigger heads and higher IPD is not great. The FOV could be better too, although that is not as much of an issue on smaller heads I bet (and yes, I tried the odyssey vr cover mod too). I prefer Reverb G2 over the Index these days, purely due to the resolution. The sharpness is on a different level. I have high hopes for PSVR2. So far I played it just for 10 min through PS5 in Kayak Mirage tutorial. The sweet spot is small. Probably similar to Reverb G2. The mura is there although not as noticeable as I thought it would be. It's a very fine grain, nothing major. Comfort is decent but I ordered Globular Cluster mod to help with staying in the sweet spot.

I have an index but i've had so many problems with it. The psvr2 so far has been completely hassle free. It's honestly refreshing and it looks just as good.

I think the index controllers are slightly better though. But the psvr2 controllers aren't bad.

Overall i'm very happy with the new headset.
