Just as an FYI, whenever the game says "Veteran" or "Elite" in terms of units they aren't talking about the division's template, but the individual units skill level, between Green, Trained, Regular, Skilled/Elite, and Veteran. so in that case the spawned units from the "In the name of the people" Focus gave you units of the skill level "Skilled/Elite" and "Veteran" respectively, making them better than other units of the same template

The Soviet path has this one big exploit. Basically, you try to end the war with Italy as soon as possible using your Soviet stuff and take Eritrea, Somalia and Afar by cranking out a large amount of units. Then, when Italy offers you peace, you can bypass the Soviet mediation focus.

It makes sense that allying yourself to a more powerful nation will grant you great short term benefits, but come with strings attached later down the line.

The anarchist path is a bit better for expansion with the african union thing, you can make african colonies rise up against their coloniser
