To my mind, the only potential hitch in the giddyup for the Salmon French Toast Sandwich is the use of canned salmon. I don’t have a problem with canned salmon but this applications sounded…interesting? Of course when the recipe comes from Salute To Salmon Recipes published by the Canadian Fisheries Department in 1967 it has to use canned salmon, right?

I ran a sandwich club for 10years. Initially we tried to experiment chronologically but it eventually proved too rigid a format to continue weekly, so we just started picking at random. I was always surprised at how enthusiastic people became about trying new sandwiches together, but it's such a simple thing, with so much variation, it worked perfectly for a 2hr gathering. When I found this channel I was delighted to see someone else had decided to examine the finer things in life without filler or gimmicks. Hope this channel takes off even more than it already has. Thanks for flying the sandwich flag.

Instead of strawberry jam, perhaps orange marmalade, or maybe peach or apricot preserves would work. Definitely not strawberry, though.

You know someone likes your channel when after the first addition resulted in a 'minus down' that I was actively rooting for the other two plus ups like I was a sports fan so you could "win" this Sandwiches of History 'competition' 2-1! Especially when I'm not a fan of salmon and will likely never make this one! :).

I had to do a double-take on that spice jar - I have kefta rub of the same brand. Although mine is *cough* several years old at this point. Oops. But now that I think about it, kefta rub might also be tasty on salmon... hmm. If only I weren't the only one in our house who liked salmon.
